by Carolann Verrioli

22 Employees Celebrate Service Milestones

This Monday, July 18th, 22 employees celebrated major service milestones. Everyone who has been with Goodwill from 5 to 35 years gathered in our board room along with leadership to celebrate their amazing contributions and growth within the organization!

Here at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, we strive to create a working environment that is welcoming, safe, and meaningful to everyone. Every role contributes to our mission: elevating people, community, and planet for a good today and better tomorrow. From our maintenance crew, to our retail teams and manufacturing staff, to the folks answering calls for 211/LIFE LINE, we all contribute to the betterment of our Rochester and Syracuse communities.

Each of the employees who were honored at the milestone celebration today embody our Core Values and Live Goodwill BLUE: Be Trustworthy, Live a Culture of Belonging, Unleash Potential, and Embrace Collaboration. One of the major values that stood our in the conversations today was "Unleash Potential." The employees who celebrated have grown within the organization, whether they changed paths and learned new skills like Sarah Favro, who began her career at GWFL 20 years ago as the Children's Program Coordinator and is now the Foundation and Corporate Relations Manager, or they were promoted within a department like Deborah Turner, who started as a Telecounselor for 211/LIFE LINE 10 years ago, and is now the Program Director!

The number of people celebrating 5 years with Goodwill was seven, nine celebrated 10 years, one celebrated 15 years, one celebrated 20 years, two celebrated 25 years, and two celebrated 35 years. Overall, these milestones add up to 290 collective years of service (wow)! Thank you to everyone who contributes to our mission!
