Carolann Verrioli: Marketing Coordinator

Name and pronouns:

Carolann Verrioli, she/her

Title and time you have been with the organization:

I am the Marketing Coordinator. I've been in this role for a few months, but I've been with the organization for a little over 2 years!

What is your role here at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes?

I manage our social media pages (follow us!), design creative and business collateral for the organization (such as logos, mailings, informational brochures and flyers, etc.), and help plan and market our events.

What do you enjoy most about working at Goodwill?

Two things:

1. The potential for growth. I can speak from experience when I say that Goodwill of the Finger Lakes truly fosters growth and encourages everyone to reach their potential. I started out as a Customer Service Representative in the Contact Center, and while that was a great job and I loved my team, I was always seeking out new challenges. When a position opened up on the Community Engagement Team, my superiors encouraged me to go for it! Since then, I have learned so much and I get to do what I love for a great organization!

2. I love that I can be a part of Goodwill's efforts to create a more sustainable community. Fast Fashion and overconsumption are a huge contributor to the pollution of our planet and the exploitation of workers. Thrifting is one way that we can reduce those negative impacts, and I get to help spread that message!

What activities do you enjoy in your free time?/What is a fun fact about yourself?

I love to draw, mostly cartoons/comics, and I am even trying to teach myself how to animate. I also like to crochet!

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is a not-for-profit organization supporting the Rochester and Syracuse area communities. Headquartered in Rochester, NY, Goodwill of the Finger Lakes along with Goodwill Vision Enterprises (formerly ABVI) have a very long and successful history of creating job opportunities and serving the community through the Good Neighbor program, 211/LIFE LINE, and our vision services. In addition, we have several Goodwill thrift store locations offering second-hand clothing for men, women, and children as well as home goods and other accessories.
