Margie VandeZande: Program Director of Vision Services

I am the Program Director of Vision Services. I have been with Goodwill of the Finger Lakes for almost 4 years.
What is your role here at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes?
I lead our vision services team which includes our Vision Rehabilitation Team, our Vision Wellness Initiatives and I also co-facilitate our Low Vision Services. I am a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist and serve individuals who are legally blind.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love working with individuals to help them find solutions and adaptations to live independently, continue their hobbies and pursue their vocational goals. Additionally, I love that my job allows me to be creative and really provide great person centered training for individuals on all spectrums of their vision loss journey.
What activities do you enjoy in your free time?/What is a fun fact about yourself?
In my free time, I love spending time outdoors with my family and dog. I am also an avid DIY’er and love a good renovation project. One fun fact about me, is that I am half Iranian and a majority of my extended family lives in Iran.
