Yisreall Malavez: Good Neighbor Community Navigator

Title and time you have been with the organization:

Goodwill Community Navigator II, I’ve been with Goodwill for almost 3 years.

What is your role here at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes?

My role here at Goodwill Of The Finger Lakes is The Good Neighbor Community Navigator , we are responsible for assisting individuals overcome their barriers to employment and independence; connecting individuals with appropriate resources and services; and creating and maintaining community partnerships that facilitate an individual's success.

What do you enjoy most about working at Goodwill?

What I enjoy most about working at goodwill is building those bonds and reports with the individuals at goodwill and making those great connections with the customers. While working as a floating CSTL I’ve had the opportunity to travel to a numerous of stores and meet a bunch of amazing people and allow myself to be a leader in those stores as well as learn an abundance of things. While moving into my new role I’m very excited to able to utilize all the tools I’ve learned and implement it into a role I feel comes natural to me.

What activities do you enjoy in your free time?/What is a fun fact about yourself?

In my free time I enjoy shopping at my local goodwill finding my next treasures such as vintage shirts, and jackets. I enjoy re purposing them and bringing a lot of them back to life. In my free time other than thrifting I spend my time trying new foods around the city and creating food ideas that are out of the ordinary.

Fun Fact?

A fun fact about myself is if I could marry pizza and live with ten cats I would!
