ABVI empowers people to realize their dreams

May 6, 2011

Belinda Brasley took an extended time off from working while she raised her children. Just as she began working to restart a career, she was diagnosed with Myopic Macular Degeneration. Belinda worried that she would not be able to continue with meaningful work.

As she began receiving services at ABVI, Belinda learned that a visual impairment does not need to be the end of a career. She was trained to use adaptive technology that allowed her to continue doing her job. Belinda enjoyed the atmosphere at ABVI so much that she applied for a job here and now works in Administration.

The value of “Continuous Improvement” is very important to Belinda. She strives to continue to learn new skills and to grow as a person. Belinda enjoys working at ABVI, where people are empowered to reach for their dreams.
