ROCing the Day for the United Way

Nov 7, 2018

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes and the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABV), a mission program of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, are gearing up to once again ROC the Day and they want to know: Are you ready?

This year, on Tuesday, November 27 you can ROC the Day and celebrate #GivingTuesday with an online gift in support of the programs and services Goodwill and ABVI provide to families, children, and individuals throughout the greater Rochester area.

“GivingTuesday is a nationwide day of giving. However, when you ROC the Day for Goodwill and ABVI, you are supporting local non-profits that do good work right here in our community,” says Marlisa Post, Annual Giving Manager, and perennial ROCstar at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes.

So how does one become a ROC the Day ROCstar?

“It’s simple,” says Post. “Choose. Give. Matter.”

Make a donation online on 11.27.18

Additionally, donations can be made via telephone by calling 1-800-242-0238.

"Special thanks to Smola Consulting who has generously offered to match all donations to Goodwill of the Finger Lakes up to a total of $1,000," says Post.

After making a donation, Post encourages ROCstars to tell everyone on Facebook, Twitter, and friends and family via email about it.

“It’s important to get the word out that rocking GivingTuesday is a great way to support local non-profits like Goodwill and ABVI,” says Post.

So, spread the word. Donate on 11.27.18. ROC the Day for Goodwill and ABVI.

“You’ll love what it feels like to be a ROC star,” exclaims Post.
