ROCHESTER, NY – ABVI-Goodwill is joining with hundreds of other local non-profits participating in the epic one-day giving event, ROC the Day, occurring on Thursday, December 8, 2011.
ROC the Day, powered by the United Way, is the first event of its kind in the Greater Rochester area and all of New York State. Thousands of community members will be able to make an online gift on this day to help advance their philanthropic passions, including empowering people who are blind or visually impaired.
Donations to support ABVI-Goodwill can be made beginning at 12:00 AM up until 11:59 PM on December 8 by visiting ABVI-Goodwill’s official ROC the Day page at: http://bit.ly/ABVI_ROCtheDay
As a special bonus, every hour throughout ROC the Day will feature a ROC star donor chosen to receive an additional $500 added to their gift for the non-profit of their choice. Community members are encouraged to sign up via email at ROCtheDay.org to receive a reminder about the event and their opportunity to “Choose. Give. Matter.”
ROC the Day is powered by United Way of Greater Rochester with sponsorship support from ESL Federal Credit Union. Additional ROC the Day community partners include Ad Council of Rochester, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Genesee Valley Chapter, City of Rochester, Council of Agency Executives, County of Monroe, The Farash Foundation, Greater Rochester Health Foundation, The Jewish Federation, RocCity Coalition and Rochester Area Community Foundation.
