Goodwill of the Finger Lakes opened its newest retail store and donation location in Monroe County, in East Rochester, NY on Friday, October 10. The new 28,175 square-foot store occupies the former Big Lots at 825 Fairport Road in the Wegmans Plaza. Doors opened to the public at 9 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first 100 shoppers 16 or older who entered the store on October 10 received a $10 Goodwill gift card.
Assemblymember for the 135th District of the NYS Assembly, Jen Lunsford and Monroe County Executive, Adam J. Bello were both in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Of the newest store opening, Goodwill of the Finger Lakes President and CEO Jen Lake said, "East Rochester is a natural fit for us as we continue expanding access to sustainable retail options — offering the community a meaningful way to shop with purpose, knowing that every purchase supports our mission-driven programs and services."
The Goodwill East Rochester location features both the retail store and a donation center, both open Monday-Saturday, 9am-8pm, and Sunday 10am-6pm.
All proceeds from in-store purchases go to Goodwill’s charity programs, including Goodwill Vision Services, 211/LIFELINE, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Goodwill Learning Academy, workforce development, and the Good Neighbor Program.
