Aug 11, 2025

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes opened its third location in Ontario County, in Geneva, NY on Friday, August 8. The new 14,000-square-foot thrift store occupies the former Tops Friendly Markets at 381 Hamilton Street. Doors opened to the public at 9 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first 100 shoppers who entered the store on August 8 received a $10 Goodwill gift card.

According to Finger Lakes Daily News and RochesterFirst, "In attendance was New York State Senator Pam Helming, who spoke, saying, 'The opening of this new Goodwill store is a powerful example of how smart redevelopment can make a big impact. What was once a vacant Tops Market is now a bright, active, and welcoming space that will drive foot traffic, support local businesses, and strengthen the Geneva community as a whole.'"

And, "'We are grateful to our new neighbors in Geneva for the warm welcome,' Goodwill of the Finger Lakes President and CEO Jen Lake said. 'Today’s grand opening is yet another significant step that reflects our growth in bringing our unique and sustainable thrifting experience to even more shoppers in the Finger Lakes region and our continued investment in supporting the communities we serve through our many impact programs and services.'"

The Goodwill Geneva location features both the retail store and a donation center, both open Monday-Saturday, 9am-8pm, and Sunday 10am-6pm.

All proceeds from in-store purchases go to Goodwill’s charity programs, including Goodwill Vision Services, 211/LIFELINE, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Goodwill Learning Academy, workforce development, and the Good Neighbor Program.
